What is Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ)?
CSQ is an independent, not-for-profit, industry-funded body that subsidises training for students by funding their preferred Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) CSQ is funded by a statutory training levy established under the Building and Construction Industry Act 1991. The levy is charged on Queensland construction projects worth more than $150,000, where CSQ receives 0.1% of the construction project cost that we use to fund training and skilling costs.

Who Do I Report CSQ-Funded Enrolments to?
Firstly, CSQ reporting does not replace your usual AVETMISS reporting obligations. If you have a contract with Skills Queensland, you’ll still need to report to them; otherwise, all accredited training will need to be reported to the NCVER as usual.
On top of this, CSQ requires you to send them a copy of your AVETMISS files containing only those CSQ-funded records.
CSQ DO NOT pass your AVETMISS data onto any government body on your behalf.
Configuration in Vasto
- CSQ is not a Government Agency, so the National Funding Source should usually be 20 – Domestic Other Revenue.
- Use the State Funding Code to define CSQ-Funded Enrolments. We recommend the code 'CSQ'.
- When generating your AVETMISS files, you can then produce the CSQ-specific records by selecting only the CSQ State Funding Code*
*Currently, Vasto cannot filter AVETMISS on state codes for a national submission. It only works for funded RTOs.
