Issuing Badges in Vasto
If you haven't done so already, it is recommended that you read the following article to gain an understanding into how to set up digital badge templates in Vasto:
This article will highlight how you can actually issue these badges to students manually, after they have completed their learning. Note that badges can be set up for automatic issuance, but this article will only cover manual admin issuance.
Issuing Badges Upon Certificate Generation
- Let us assume you have a student who has just completed their learning. Navigate to their individual profile to get started.
- Under their Enrolments tab, open up the Progress Tracker for the enrolment that you are wanting to issue a badge for.
- At the bottom of the progress tracker, you will have the ability to jump to the Student List. Let's do this now.
- From here, you will find the student alongside any other enrolments attached to the same timetable. On the right-hand side of the page, there is the ability to generate a final certificate. Depending on your course/unit settings, this may alternatively mention generating a transitory certificate.
- This will open a page for any queued certificates attached to the timetable. Go ahead and click the Generate button for the student, on the right-hand side of the page.
- Once the certificate is generated, Vasto will ask if you want to take any further action. From here, select the option to Issue Digital Badge.
- To confirm that the badge was issued correctly, you can jump back their individual profile and select the Badges tab on the right.
- This will then list any badges issued to the student.
Issuing Badges After Certificate Generation
In some cases, you might have generated a certificate in the past and now you are wanting to go back and issue a digital badge in addition to the certificate. This can be done as follows:
- Navigate to Manage → Certificates.
- From here, jump to the History.
- From here you can filter down to the student or students that you are wanting to issue the badge for. Make sure to click on the search button to apply the filters.
- Now, click on the Actions button on the right-hand side of the certificate record.
- You will see the option to issue a digital badge. Click on this option.
- The badge will be generated according to the template at the Course/Unit level. To confirm this, you can go to the individual's profile and access the Badges tab.
- Here, you will see the listed badges that have been issued to the student.
