We're continuing our never-ending quest to make Vasto the best student management system on the planet!
New
Nothing new to see here.
Improved
- The AVETMISS logic for including certificates in NSW has been adjusted to include certificates issued in prior years for enrolments reported in the following collection year.
- We've introduced a password strength indicator to encourage users to create secure passwords. This update aims to improve our web application's overall security and reduce the risk of unauthorised access to user accounts. We strongly encourage all users to use this new feature and create stronger passwords for their accounts.
- We now support using special characters in a user's password. This enhancement will let users create even stronger passwords. We now support the following characters: !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *, (, ), _, +, -, =, {, }, [, ], , |, ;, :, " , ' , <, >, ., ?, /
- We've integrated a new HTML authoring element into the admin portal. This update allows admins to easily create and edit rich-text content, including formatting, images, and links.
This integration will significantly enhance the content creation experience for admins. For more information, please refer to our User Guides. The new editor is now available in the following ways:- Course and Unit Specification Introductory Text (INTRO Tab)
- Special Enrolment Procedures (ENROL Tab)
- RPL Information (RPL tab in courses)
- Question Text (Activity)
- Exam Intro and Completion Text
- Booking Confirmation Templates
- Automated Messaging Templates
- We've reworded the Non-Program Structure checkbox label for clarity.
- We've made some changes to the Exam Question Editor page. We've deprecated the ability to upload a PDF to the Answer Assist section. There is still the option to link an already-hosted document. To attach learning material to a question from within the question editor, please use the INFORMATION RESOURCES area at the bottom left.
- We've added a 'Close' button option to the Certificate > Advanced Element Positioning window of a Certificate without saving changes.
- We've removed any unnecessary references to a date format that incorrectly displayed “yyyy-mm-dd“ next to date fields within the platform.
- When in the File Manager, it is now possible to search by pressing ENTER.
- We've made it easier to open a Certificate Preview against a Course when clicking anywhere without the confines of the preview box. Previously, a user would need to click on the image icon itself.
- We've deprecated the mini-view person profile popup window. This has been removed from the Booking Details page
- We've corrected the positioning of the terms 'New' and 'Active' within the Assessor Portal for clarity.
- We've adjusted the wording of the AVETMISS warning message to aid clarity.
- You can now use your F1 Key on your keyboard to open the Vasto User Guides from any page within the Admin Portal.
- We've removed the 'Portal Menu' button from the Student Portal header where the user's only role is that of a 'Student'.
Fixed
In our continued effort to make Vasto the most reliable student management system in the market, we've eliminated several issues in the platform with this update!
Here's a quick rundown on those fixes:
- We've resolved an issue where an Assessor would be temporarily dissociated from a unit that was not yet commenced against the Enrolment. This would occur when the Assessor applied at the Booking level was overridden at the Unit level. [VAS-32]
- We've corrected a grammatical error for one of the buttons on the Timetable screen. It should now read, 'Continue to Units and Pathways without Saving'. [VAS-30]
- We've corrected a spelling error in the 'Find Bar' tooltip. [VAS-31]
- We've corrected a spelling error on the 'Partner Alerts' Dashboard item. [VAS-33]
- We've corrected a spelling error in the Activity Student Declaration and Final Assessor Declaration tooltips. [VAS-34]
- We've corrected a spelling error in the Trainer selection section of a Timetable Item where the Trainer was deactivated. [VAS-46]
