We're continuing our never-ending quest to make Vasto the best student management system on the planet!
New
We've made it possible to restrict the number of Exam attempts for a student.
As an Admin, you can now limit the number of times a Student can attempt an Exam.
Every time a student takes the exam, they will see their remaining attempts displayed alongside the total number of attempts allowed for the activity in the Student Portal.
Follow these steps to set a limit on Exam attempts:
- Step 1 - Go to Manage โ Exams โ Locate and Click the Relevant Exam
- Step 2 - Click, Structure
- Step 3 - Navigate to the Question Server Heading
- Step 4 - Input the Number of Attempts into the Limit Attempts
Currently, ONLY an Assessor can grant extra attempts in the Assessor Portal. We aim to extend this capability to Admins in upcoming releases. Please ensure you've assigned an Assessor to the Timetable or Enrolment if it hasn't been done yet.
Also, this new feature does not work when 'Retake Failed Questions Only' is applied. If you want to use this feature immediately, we recommend that you check 'Retake Failed Sections' instead.
Improved
We've restricted the ability to remove a Unit from a Course where Student Progress Exists.
To reduce the risk of Orphaned Data, we have disabled the option to remove a Unit from a Course if there's existing student progress associated with that Unit.
We have made an update to improve the display of the [student_login_credentials] placeholder.
Thanks to your feedback, we've changed how the [student_login_credentials] placeholder displays. This change looks to improve both the visual display and the language used.
When using the [student_login_credentials] placeholder, it will now generate the following:
We've improved the warning message displayed for Practical Activities missing Practical Sessions.
When a Practical Session is added to the Timetable Profile page, and there are multiple Practical Activities without Sessions, hovering over the Save button will alert the user to assign the Sessions.
If there are no Sessions, and more than one unassigned Practical Session exists, the User will be warned that the Sessions should be assigned to the Practical Activity.
If there is either only one short Session and only one Practical Activity with no assigned Sessions, or Practical Activities have a session assigned, the warning message will not appear.
We've made some improvements to our Hubspot Integration.
For those integrating Timetables via the IFRAME method on their web pages and wanting to use HubSpot Analytics to track leads, we have an update.
Previously, due to a HubSpot constraint, an individual's first interaction was recorded as the Enrolment Creation instead of the prior action of Accessing the Enrolment Form.
We've made some changes that allow you to register the lead's initial touch-point consistently. To implement this, actions need to be taken in HubSpot, Vasto, and your website. Please refer to the steps below:
Hubspot Setup
- Navigate to Marketing โ Lead Capture โ Forms.
- Click the, Create a Free Form button and opt for a Standalone Form.
- Click, Next.
- Select Blank Template โ Click, Start.
- Only the 'Email' field is essential and added by default.
- Title the form 'Vasto Widget Lead Form' at the top of the page.
- Click, Update โ Publish.
- Extract the text between 'Editor' and 'Edit' in the URL. This represents the Form ID (for example, "30a754e2-0730-4482-97b8-16bbde14a44b").
Vasto Setup
- Go to Connect โ Hubspot Setup.
- Add the 'Hubspot Portal ID' (this value is auto-populated from your tracking code once you click the field).
- Add the 'Hubspot Tracking Form ID' (please refer to Step 8 from the Hubspot Setup).
Website Setup
- Go to Connect โ Widgets and select the relevant Timetable Widget you wish to track via Hubspot.
- Click, Get Code.
- Extract the Snippet from the first box and Embed it onto your Web Page Header. Please note that if the box below does not display as an option, you may not have configured your Hubspot Integration correctly.
This process can be replicated.
Fixed
In our continued effort to make Vasto the most reliable student management system in the market, we've eliminated several issues in the platform with this update!
Here's a quick rundown on those fixes:
-
There was an issue that stopped an Admin from being able to edit the URL in the Resource tab for ALL Activity Types. This has been resolved. [VA-119]
-
Learners encountered an issue where the hyperlink to the student's certificate did not function properly when emailed to the Learner. This has been resolved. [VA-144]
- We've addressed a problem where the Progress Tracker for a student would mistakenly mark an enrolment as complete while counting Core/Elective Units as incomplete when Clustered Units were in use. [VA-242]
- We've refined the payment status logic for Bookings to enhance accuracy. In earlier versions, there were instances where a Booking might display as unpaid even when the invoice was settled. [VAS-311]
- We've resolved an issue where a Payment Request would be generated for an already invoiced Enrolment. [VAS-421]
- Widgets with Filters now accurately showcase ALL Timetable types. Previously, Private Timetables weren't visible when filters were in use. [VAS-489]
- We've resolved an issue where the wrong Clustered Units would display for a student when a Unit within a Cluster was upgraded. [VAS-523]
-
We've resolved an issue on the Training Partner Settings page where updating the price of one Unit inadvertently applied that price to all Units. [VAS-573]
-
We've resolved an issue, in Email Templates, where single quotes were being duplicated. [VAS-590]
-
We've resolved an issue that prevented Certificates from being viewable in the student portal. [VAS-605]
