Course Profitability Report

This report can be used to establish how profitable a course will be, based on the delivery costs incurred versus total expected revenue based on current enrolments.

Profit/Loss is calculated based on the total paid & unpaid revenue, minus any delivery costs.

  1. Navigate to Report > Course Profitability

  2. Set the filters;
    Date range: Click the box to set a custom date range, or set a fixed date range (ie. last 30 days)
    State: Use the drop down box to select a specific state
    Venue: Use the drop down box to select a specific venue
    VET or Short course only: Check the box to restrict results to only VET training or short courses
    Code filter: Populate a code in this field to filter results to a single course or unit

  3. Click button to run/refresh the report data

  4. Data is displayed on-screen.

    This includes timetable item summary information, total delivery costs, paid and unpaid revenue and total calculated profit or loss

    Revenue (Unpaid): This total derives from any outstanding invoices for course enrolment fees

    Revenue (Paid): This total derives from all paid course enrolment fees

    NOTE: All revenue must be linked to the timetable item in order to pull into the report.

    Delivery Cost: This is derived from the venue usage fees (see page on Physical training Venues) and from the allocated trainers' hourly rate (see page on Trainer Details)
