Pathways

Pathways allow you to offer different delivery modes for a unit. This is commonly used to set different activities for students completing online learning versus face-to-face learning options.

This function mean you have just one unit with flexible delivery options - rather than multiple versions of the same unit to accommodate the different delivery modes offered.

Create a Pathway

  1. Select the Paths tab

  2. Edit Pathway Title and Description
Enter a custom title and description. All units must have at least one pathway. For this reason, one pathway is automatically created inside each new unit with a default title 'Pathway 1'. If you timetable this as a single unit these details will display in the student portal.

  3. Edit Stream Descriptor (if applicable)
When you generate a certificate, the text supplied here will display on their certificate front page underneath the unit title. This applies to transitory certificates where the unit is completed within a course.

  4. Apply Curriculum Activities to Pathways
Click the edit icon, to see a list of activities for this unit.

Select the activities which belong on this pathway, then click save. Only the activities selected will be visible in the student portal for students to complete.

  5. Pathway Summary
Afterwards, if you look in the Pathway 1 details, you will see a confirmation message attached underneath the pathway showing how many activities have been selected for that pathway.

  6. Create More Pathways
If you will be offering multiple delivery modes, click the add pathway button to populate more pathways. Repeat steps 1 - 5 to add details for each pathway.

Remove a Pathway

Since all units require at least one pathway, Pathway 1 can not be deleted.

If you have created more pathways, these will have an orange cross, which will delete the pathway.

Do not delete a pathway if there are live students.
