Vasto Release 5.96

This month's release brings a solid round of quality-of-life improvements and targeted bug fixes, continuing to refine both the learner and administrator experiences across the platform.

Partners now have enhanced capabilities such as resending confirmation emails and sending SMS messages from the portal, while admins gain more control over activity outcomes, report exports, and data formatting.

As always, this update also includes key bug fixes across progress tracking, report accuracy, and enrolment workflows.

New Features

  • Added a new activity type for RTO staff to complete. This allows you to set up a task that will prevent a unit from automatically completing until a staff member has recorded a result.

Improvements

  • Added the ability for Training Partners to resend confirmation emails in the same way as in the Admin Portal.

  • Made changes to the Outcomes and Skills tabs in activities:

    • Outcomes are now present for all activities except the Declarations.

    • Skills are only available for Practical Sessions.

  • Added ordering to column headers on the manage enrolments page.

  • Students downloading documents will now get the original document name instead of a random name.

  • Added the ability to send bulk SMS to a timetable from the Partner Portal.

  • Start date and planned start dates now always show in the progress tracker.

  • Added "next" and "previous" buttons for students to navigate between activities in Student Portal

  • Added Booking, Enrolment and CRICOS status to the Enrolment Progression Report.

Bugs

  • Fixed a bug where the “select all” button was not selecting all units in the Unit Outcome Editor.

  • Introduced a preference to disallow trainer availability changes if they are already booked in a session. With this ticked, the select box to change availability is removed. If not ticked, admin receive an alert if a trainer tries to change their availability while booked.

  • Added a preference to control whether “Credit Only” units count in the total count of units for course completion.

  • Fixed a bug where admins could not easily view the contents of File Submission activities once graded as complete.

  • AQTF employer surveys will now show in report even when they have not been invited via the email on booking page.

  • Fixed an issue where compulsory or supervised Assignment activities were auto-completing.

  • You can now save “blank” planned dates in the Unit Outcome Editor.

  • Fixed the Student Importer to format mobile phone numbers correctly so they’re the correct length.

  • Added a filter to show archived assessors in the assessor list view.

  • Fixed an issue preventing the saving of booking information when editing.

  • Now lazy loading all dashboard widgets to speed up loading. Removed legacy dashboard setting.

  • Fixed an Issue with timetable switching on admin portal when switching to different course/unit.

  • Fixed an issue with some exams not marking as complete after a student reaches the passing grade.

  • Fixed an issue with the Custom Report Generator where Enrolment Custom Field responses don’t line up with the appropriate headers.

  • Added the PO Box into the “Export contacts” report from the timetable students view.

  • Fixed an issue with the Commission Report, so that only “Training Services” items are included. Previously we were erroneously including Travel Costs in the total.

  • Fixed an issue in the Custom Report Generator where Certificate Details would not show if the Enrolment Status was not a selected column.
