The 5.99 release delivers a broad set of bug fixes and improvements, with a continued focus on stability, messaging enhancements, and streamlining common workflows. 

We’ve also improved user feedback options for assessors, expanded widget and report management capabilities, and enhanced the Student Portal’s learning content layout. 

Several long-standing bugs—including USI validation, SMS delivery accuracy, and training plan display—have also been addressed.


New Features

  • Added a new rule for automated messaging that can be triggered based on the start date of individual activities.

  • Added support for rules that trigger based on activity type (e.g. send a message if pre-work was incomplete on a session date).

Improvements

  • Updated the Course cover page in the Student Portal to use new styles and display the unit introduction and related files.

  • Made it possible for students to be enrolled in multiple instances of the same Catapult unit.

  • Implemented pagination for the My Widgets page to improve performance for subscribers with many widgets.

  • Assessors can now reply to student submissions with file attachments, shown as dropdown options for the student.

  • Added a “Download to Excel” button to the Unpaid Items Report screen.

  • Added a Purchase Order Number field to generated PDF invoices.

Bugs

  • Fixed an issue where swapping an assessor did not transfer unmarked work.

  • Now displaying time zone notes for short and practical sessions on the student’s course cover page.

  • Fixed an issue where students could change their name and still have their USI considered valid.

  • Fixed a bug where adding electives added them to all enrolments.

  • Updated password reset handling to ensure standard reset links are used for trainers and assessors.

  • Fixed issue where large emails were not sending due to line wrap; also redesigned the email log page for performance.

  • Changed how selected pathway items are tracked to avoid inconsistencies.

  • Training plan display issue resolved for upgraded units.

  • Fixed an issue that prevented edits to Automated Messages.

  • Fixed the LLN Review status notification and missing “Resend LLN Assessment” button for review outcomes.

  • Updated SMS dispatch logging to reflect actual send time for scheduled texts.

  • Fixed syncing issues with Catapult when timetable pathway IDs were missing.

  • Added support for “next” and “previous” navigation buttons for LTI activities.

  • Resolved minor UI issues during 5.99 QA (e.g., staff selector not hiding).

  • Fixed an issue where Unit Progress/Outcome Editor was missing the student name.

  • Resolved issue where re-enrolling students with mismatched details would result in a blank screen; enrolments now complete and discrepancies are logged for admin.

  • Fixed issues with LLN Robot integration from previous release.

  • Fixed issue where the “Save all changes” button in the Enrolment Outcome Editor could revert individual CT results again.
