Release 5.103

This release continues our improvements to usability and flexibility across the Vasto platform. While fewer in number than some past releases, 5.103 focuses on foundational enhancements such as better search behaviour, streamlined messaging, new branding options, and more control over student-facing features. It also introduces several bug fixes and targeted improvements to the enrolment experience, messaging tools, and report generation.

New Features

• Improved our report generation step for reports made in the Custom Report Generator.
• When looking at an activity, the “Notes for Student” field now uses the WYSIWYG editor.
• Added login page background option from branding.

Improvements

• Messaging has had a major refactor in styling and functionality for the eLearning portals.
  • New message ticker in navigation bar
  • Students can contact their assessors or trainers far more easily using the message assessor button and new message button
  • Trainers and assessors can search through all of their students they have access to rather than having to navigate to each
  • Message templates are now included in all areas of messaging
  • Messages now show a threaded view to make it easier to follow the thread
• Updated search options to fix an issue where your previous student number being all numbers would result in you being taken back to the dashboard instead of a student profile.
• We have changed our WYSIWYG editor to a more flexible option. Until the end of January, this is an option available to toggle on or off from the Default Settings page.
• Extended our “self-serve” timetable swap option to charge a different price if you’re within x period of the original or new timetable’s sessions.
• Added student portal setting to disable message assessor button.
• Added keyword matching to Enrolment Declaration tickboxes, similar to the matching on Enrolment Custom Fields.
• We now hide completed enrolments from the list of outstanding Staff Declaration activities.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed the issue where people with multiple parts to their first or last name(s) would not appear in searches made using the top-right search bar.
• Fixed an issue where including HTML in Enrolment Custom Fields caused “placeholder” text to break. We have now added a field for your own custom placeholder/example response for each custom field.
• USI project fix for ABNs with spaces
• Fix to show Catapult SCORM and reading material on completed units, based on subscriber preferences.
• Fix to prevent certificates showing in the student portal until they have been released.
• Fixed an issue where removed electives appeared for students but not on the admin progress tracker.
