Release 5.86

We're pleased to announce Release 5.86 of Vasto Educator will be available from July 25, 2024.  This release includes some improvements for our student, assessor and corporate portals, as well as several bug fixes for problems that we have identified.

Improvements

• Made some changes around admin permissions to allow the following tasks to be completed:
  • Admin users with manage admin access can now update other admin usernames
  • Admin users can be deactivated to stop them from accessing the site
  • Admin users can be reactivated to provide access to the site after deactivation
• Included “Citizenship status” on the VET profile form.
• Updated the display of clustered units in the edit course and enrolment progress tracker screens. CAE units are now grouped underneath their container, and also take on the same Core/Elective status as the container for easier completion calculation.
• Improved performance of edit course screen by only loading units to add when you try to add a unit.
• Added some more shortcut buttons to a person’s enrolments when viewed from the person profile page.
• Added the ability to set default funding information for a timetable item, which will get applied to new enrolments.
• Added a flag to contact log entries that will allow them to be shown in the trainer and assessor portals, at your discretion.
• Added the ability for students to message their trainer from the Student Portal. Messages are also able to be forwarded between trainers by admin or the trainer.
• Simplified the student journey in the Student Portal to remove the extra steps of going back to the “Open course” page after completing information such as the AVETMISS profile or USI.
• Added a new response type of “text - manually assessed” to Matrix/Grid questions in the Question Editor. These may be used if you wish to provide benchmarks rather than exact text match answers in your matrix questions.
• Allowed employees with no enrolments to be shown within the Corporate Portal.
• Worked through the Exam process, making sure that all questions and attempts follow a consistent path.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed a bug relating to the incorrect showing of “Training starts” time in some web widgets.
• Fixed issues where timetable enrolments and person certificates could appear multiple times instead of just once.
• We now only show the “Catapult Unit” activity in the “Add Activity” screen if it’s a unit in the Catapult Library and you have the Catapult addon enabled and configured.
• Fixed an issue where a venue ID that matches a postcode could result in the incorrect venue being selected in drop-downs.
• Fixed an issue where the Trainer and Assessor “units” tab wasn’t showing all qualifications in your account.
• Fixed an issue where multiple responses to a single question (e.g. in the case of a Multiple Choice Question) caused the question to appear multiple times within the Student Portal.
• Fixed a case where an enrolment could appear multiple times in a timetable if the enrolment had multiple certificates.
• Fixed an issue where WYSIWYG content set in the Terms and Conditions box in Default Settings was populating the T&C PDF with raw HTML instead of formatted text.
• Fixed a media resolver issue with TinyMCE preventing video from being added to WYSIWYG editors.
• Fixed issue where Corporate Clients searches with ampersands (&) in them were not filtering the returned results.
