Where exam questions have already been created in your Vasto account, these can be added to an exam section with the drag-and-drop method from the exam setup page, or by allocating it to an exam from the question editor.
Adding Questions using Drag-and-Drop Method
- Navigate to Courses > My Exams
- Locate the exam, either use the search function - or locate in the list
- Click the edit icon
- Click on the Questions button
- Choose the question(s) you want to add. Click and drag them into the desired section
The top 50 most recently edited/created questions will appear in this list.
To locate other questions from your question library, use the search function.
A question cannot be used more than once in the same exam - once a question has been added to an exam section you can no longer see it in the list, and it will not show up when searching
Navigation
There are a number of navigation options accessed from the Question Allocation view. From top left down the page these are;
- Click the [my exams] text to navigate back to the exam list (Courses > My Exams)
- Click the [+ build more questions] text to navigate to a new question in the question editor (Courses > My Questions 'Add New')
- Click the [edit structure] text to navigate to the exam structure page
- Click on the section box to navigate to the section settings
Adding Questions Using the Allocation Function in Question Editor
- Navigate to Courses > My Questions
- Use the search tool or locate the question from the list, and click the edit button.
Note: you can easily see from the question list whether the question has been allocated to an exam
- Scroll down the page to the Allocation section
- Choose the exam you wish to allocate the question to from the drop down list.
If you have a large number of exams in your account, using the search filter will be useful.
eg. if you apply search filter "first aid" only exams with first aid in the title will populate into the drop down box.
- Choose the section within the exam that you wish to allocate the question to
- Click the allocate button to confirm
- Having done this, you will see the following message
- Click save in the bottom right of screen, before you refresh the page
Make sure you have saved your changes before refreshing the page! Refreshing the page will lose any unsaved changes to your question text.
- This now displays any exams and the section which the question is allocated to.
- To remove a question from an exam, click the cross icon.
Do not remove questions from live exams that have been completed by past students.
This will result in data loss.
