Once created, questions are stored in the question library. These can be added to an exam, which is completed by a student in their student portal and thus used as a learning assessment tool.
Student responses to questions are either automatically assessed, or assessed by a human via the assessor portal.
How to Create a Question
- Go to Courses > My Questions
- Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the New Question button
- This will open a new blank question in the question editor
Navigating the Question Library
Once created, your questions can be located from the question library.
To access the library, navigate to Courses > My Questions.
Searching for a Question
There are multiple indexing or cataloguing criteria you can apply at question level to help you locate a question more easily. These can also be combined together for more effective search results.

Filter by Owner / Faculty
Broad search - a faculty is a overarching area of study -
Filter by Category
Medium search - a category drills down further from faculty level, allowing you to catalogue a group of related questions -
Search by Tags
Fine search - a tag allows you to catalogue specific topics or knowledge areas -
Search using the "Search" Box
This search box is capable of searching text in any of the question fields. For this reason, it is a powerful and tool to use when searching for question(s). -
Search by Sorting Columns
You can locate questions by sorting columns in ascending or descending order.
Click on the column header to toggle the ascending / descending display order.
